Services offered
Initial Consultation Meeting
This initial consultation is a 30–60 minute phone or video call designed to understand your child’s unique educational needs and explore how advocacy support can help. During the call, we’ll discuss your concerns, review your child’s current educational plan (if applicable), and identify any challenges you’re facing with school services, communication, or accommodations. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, share your goals, and learn more about how I can assist in navigating the special education process, from early intervention through transition planning for adulthood. This call is a no-pressure, confidential conversation focused on empowering you with clarity, options, and next steps.
Records Review and Meeting Preparation
This service provides a thorough review of your child’s educational records for the last three (3) years — including IEPs, 504 plans, evaluations, progress reports, disciplinary records, and correspondence with the school — to identify strengths, gaps, and areas of concern. I analyze the documentation to ensure compliance with special education laws and assess whether your child’s needs are being appropriately addressed.
Following the review, we’ll meet to prepare for your upcoming school meeting (e.g., IEP, eligibility, manifestation determination, or transition planning). I’ll help you understand your rights, clarify confusing language, develop questions to ask, and outline goals and priorities. Together, we’ll create a strategy to advocate effectively and confidently, ensuring your child’s voice and needs are at the center of the conversation.
Full Advocacy Services
Full Advocacy Services provide ongoing, personalized support for families navigating the special education system. This comprehensive service includes:
- 📚 Record Review & Analysis: In-depth evaluation of IEPs, 504 plans, evaluations, progress reports, and school communications to identify strengths, gaps, and compliance issues.
- 🗣️ Meeting Representation: Attendance at school meetings (IEP, eligibility, manifestation determination, transition planning, etc.) to advocate for appropriate services, accommodations, and supports.
- ✍️ Strategic Planning: Development of tailored advocacy strategies aligned with your child’s unique needs, goals, and legal rights.
- 📞 Ongoing Communication Support: Guidance on how to effectively communicate with school staff, draft letters or emails, and respond to school proposals or concerns.
- 🧭 Education & Empowerment: Clear explanations of special education laws, processes, and terminology to help families make informed decisions.
- 🔄 Progress Monitoring: Regular check-ins to assess educational progress, update advocacy goals, and adjust strategies as needed.
